ELSA Bosnia and Herzegovina

ELSA Bosnia and Herzegovina is an independent, non-political , non-governmental and non-profit organization which is managed by law students for the needs of law students. ELSA aims at providing its members a platform to develop their existing skills and acquire new ones, to interact with fellow students and experienced practitioners from different states and legal systems around Europe. ELSA network exists on more than 200 law faculties in 42 countries in Europe. The whole concept of forming a team in the name of ELSA existed for a long period, but it was officially founded back in 2010. ELSA's oldest local groups are Banja Luka and Sarajevo, afterwards comes Mostar and Zenica as the youngest local group. The vision of all ELSA groups is the same: A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity, whilst the purpose is To contribute to legal education, to foster mutual understanding and to promote social responsibility of law students and young lawyers.

ELSA Banja Luka

ELSA Banja Luka ELSA Banja Luka is one of the oldest ELSA groups in the region of ex-Jugoslavia. The local board started functioning in 1995. However, because of poor activity, the team drifted apart. After some time passed by, a new generation and ELSA supporters decided to form a new local board, and ever since May 2017, they have been working dedicated and forcibly. The residence of ELSA Banja Luka is on the Law Faculty of the University of Banja Luka. Currently they have around 30 memebers, but the ultimate goal is to spread the ELSA spirit throughout the whole Faculty.

ELSA Sarajevo

ELSA Sarajevo is the local group with the highest number of members. ELSA Sarajevo offers its students many chances for them to apply to practises like  the Supreme Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Constitutional Court of Federation of B&H and other similar state institutions. Every year they organise  the Human Rights Clinic during which students get an insight in the European Convection on Human Rights adn Freedoms and get to listen to highly positioned lecturers.

ELSA Mostar

ELSA Mostar ELSA Mostar exists from the 4th of May 1981. They strive to make an organization which will fill the gaps  in the formal education of law students by offering them opportunities to apply to many seminars, trainings, competitions as to apply to lectures on interesting current topics.

ELSA Zenica

ELSA Zenica was formed and founded in 2016 and ever since it has been working towards the goal to gather as many law students as they can, by stimulating them into activism and by helping them in the professional field of law by trainings, seminars, competitions, etc. Its focus is to give law students an opportunity to go through internships and to interconnect with other local groups and with ELSA groups in the region.
